Wedding Weekend: Bridal Shower

I’m so excited to finally share my bridal shower pictures with you! This is the first post in my Wedding Weekend series which will cover all of the details leading up to and after our wedding. Location, location, location. When I first thought about my bridal shower, location was super important to me. Good lighting, enough room but not too much, and a great natural setting were the things I looked for during the search for the perfect space. It needed to be just right. I’m a perfectionist, duh. We finally settled on Tavern LA after many brunches spent “researching”. The atrium was the most beautiful space and it didn’t take much to make it breathtaking.

Now onto the table setting. After browsing Etsy (like all brides), I fell in love with The Lettering Studio’s calligraphy. The shop owner, Barbara, has nine different fonts she can do – yes, nine beautiful writing styles. I am lucky if I can write my name legibly and the beginning of my name usually looks like a totally different person wrote it than the end of it. Her “Chloe” font was my favorite and inspired me to create this dreamy white and gold tablescape. The place cards and menu were done by Barbara and so many of the girls commented on how positively stunning they turned out! These rosette tablecloths were exactly what I was looking for to create a romantic backdrop for these beautiful pieces.

Of course, there are the flowers. A bohemian bride at heart, I love when florals incorporate a variety of blooms in loose arrangements. All of the vases were different – I tend to shy away from things that are symmetrical or look like they were forced into a certain shape. The less it looks like it was intentionally put there, the better.

For favors, I wanted something that was usable – I’m so not a fan of things that aren’t efficient or effective! Therefore, we packaged 2 macaroons in these little gold boxes adorned with pearls. As assortment of flavors, we had such a great time snacking on these later in the weekend. A hint for future posts: you might see pearls make another appearance!

To remember the day, I had all my girls sign this Rifle Paper Co notebook with a special message. I took a picture with each guests on this Instax Mini 8 camera to paste next to their message. I loved reading through each note and reflecting on the memories of this special day.  Plus the camera has an amazing filter which was so fitting for the theme.

The sweetest part? The cake by Michelle’s mixed pearl frosting and ruffles. It was exactly what I had envisioned. So perfectly Pinterest. I totally ate leftover cake while writing my thank you notes! I have total OCD about getting my thank yous out immediately (and they’re always hand written). Does anyone else?
