This time of year I feel like it’s difficult to not be happy. Matt flew into town Friday night and we had an amazing weekend (albeit freezing, literally). The high yesterday was 34 degrees, complete with snow flurries. My body was in shock. After a little bar hopping, we went to Girl & the Goat with a few friends Saturday night and it didn’t disappoint! Everyone in Chicago is in a festive mood it seems. We have a short work week ahead, followed by the holiday season (half my family is born in December including me) so there is so much to get excited about!

I’m sharing two trends today that make me equally excited! The first is this matte lipstick by Charlotte Tilbury. I love a bold statement lip. For you gals who don’t think you can wear one, I used to think the same thing! You just have to get used to seeing yourself in it! Seriously. Now, I feel like it looks weird when I’m NOT wearing a bold lip color. The shade is the Charlotte Tilbury Opium Noir – it’s limited edition so make sure to snag it quick! The shape of the tip made it really easy to draw a precise outline (my pet peeve is sloppy lipstick) and it was creamy so it didn’t dry out my lips!

However, I’m genuinely excited to try every single item in this set plus it looks super cute on a vanity! I can’t wait to try the clay mask and the make up remover. Y’all know my addiction to skin care is real so this probably isn’t surprising. Speaking of, stay tuned for a post this week on my tips for how to get glowing skin.

The second trend is this burgundy fringe skirt. You know when you’re wearing a fun dress and you just can’t help but twirl? That’s what happened in this skirt. A plus: twirling keeps you warmer when it’s cold out. I love the way the fringe flows with every move. It’s also fun to play with the fringe because it’s so soft! I loved how it looked with a chunky knit half tucked in too. Paired with over the knee boots to keep warm, I’m so obsessed with how this look turned out!
