Timeless Lace Little Black Dress

When I think about timeless things, there are few things I find to be more so than the little black dress. Can you think of anything? Maybe pearls? Maybe a red lip? With so many styles and shapes on the market, there’s one that always stands out to me. And that’s the lace bodycon. I’ve seen so many photos from decades past where this silhouette appears on everyone from celebrity icons to members of my own family. That’s when you know something is truly timeless!

I love adding a red lip with a date-night-ready outfit like this. How can you not? To bring out the color of this lip shade, I paired it with this BB Dakota red coat (currently on sale)! Not surprisingly, I bought this coat in grey as well and it made its appearance quite a few times during our trip to Chicago. I couldn’t decide between either color and I loved that it was collarless because so many of my other coats have big bulky collars that get in the way. I mean, seriously, sometimes I’m trying to put my tote bag over my shoulder and it just won’t fit or it does that awkward slip off thing where it somehow gets caught in my hair as it falls down. Ouch.

What I love about both this dress and the coat are that they’re wearable for more than just Valentine’s Day. I can’t wait to restyle the coat with an all white outfit or even a great pair of flared denim jeans. And the dress? I mean how many occasions do we all go to within a year that we need a great dress for? I know my calendar has themed parties, engagement celebrations, weddings, etc. on it and I’ll probably be struggling to figure out what to wear for them all! In comes the lace little black dress. Problem solved!
