Blue Bubble Sleeve Wrap Top (under $50) | White Skinny Jeans | Valentino Heels (similar here for $60 and here for $90) | Similar White Studded Bag | White Sunglasses | Gold Fan Necklace
So, I said I’d never wear red, white, and blue together. While it’s not my go to combination when a holiday is around the corner, this outfit turned out pretty cute! This is how I’d dress up for Labor Day (if I wasn’t on vacation)!
I feel like there are so many ways to do red, white, and blue. For patriotic holidays, you can go all out with stars and stripes or you can do the opposite and keep it subtle. One guess as to which kind of girl I am: the latter. The ultra, in-your-face style was great when I was about 10 (and maybe it made a revival in my college years when themed parties were everything) but now, I’m more into a refined approach to wearing this color scheme.
What I love about this outfit is that each item can be worn separately without anyone knowing that you worn it for a patriotic look. That offers a little more longevity out of the pieces, for me at least. This bubble sleeve blue top goes right with the festive spirit but could also be worn to work or out to a weekend brunch. The stripes are extremely subtle and I love the crisp structure it provides with a good pair of skinny jeans (also seen here and here).
I brought in the red element of this look via my shoes. While these shoes are Valentinos, I found some really affordable ones here and here that offer the same pop of color. I like that wearing it this way is again, subtle. It almost looks like the red was an afterthought – that I didn’t try too hard to make this look appropriate for Labor Day. I could have also worn red earrings but I talked about why these white beaded earrings are my favorite here and I stand by that statement!
As y’all know, we are in Greece for the long weekend coming up! But what are your Labor Day plans? Any BBQs on the horizon? Here’s the one other time I wore red, white, and blue. It was for our rehearsal dinner which was BBQ themed so I dressed up for the occasion!
