I know that Valentine’s Day can be met with mixed emotions. Over the years, even I’ve changed my tune on it! At this point in my life, I get excited to be all lovely dovey with Matt. Gag, I know. That said, we don’t buy into the holiday in a stereotypical way. We use it more as a day to show our appreciation, less to shower each other with Hallmark cards or boxes of chocolates in heart shaped boxes. In case you’re still looking for a date night outfit, this one shoulder ruffled top is at the top of my recommendation list right now! Whether you have Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Day plans, it’s a perfect option without going over the top. I love that it’s black because that means you can wear it long after VDay (without looking like you thought it was the holiday of love). It’s perfect for so many occasions and events. And most of all, it’s husband approved. Matt was loving this top during our shoot! The ruffle enhances your figure, if you catch my drift…
Since I’m usually all about dresses, I thought this outfit was a great change of pace! These over the knee boots are finally on sale and I wanted to show how you can style them with your every day skinny jeans (I wear these to work and they’re only $60). I feel like so often, I’m dressing up here that it’s important for me to share my everyday casual looks too! It’s amazing how quickly this top dresses up my favorite items that I wear to the office.
You might also notice some new jewels on me today! I cannot tell you how obsessed I am with Kendra Scott’s new adjustable necklaces. As a girl who constantly wants to change things up, I struggle with the length of necklaces. When buying, you have to commit. I hate committing. In comes the adjustable necklace. It makes it so you don’t have to decide between a choker or a long chain. Hallelujah! I can’t believe people didn’t think of this before. It’s genius. I’m layering the Lucy and the Debra to give you an idea of how easy it is to create this look. The Debra is probably my favorite necklace of all time and I end up pairing it with everything lately so if you’re looking for a place to start, start there!
