When Matt and I first moved in together, we had a lengthy conversation about our master bedroom linen and particularly what color duvet color to get. Finally, I sent him one options and gave him the choice between grey and white. I loved the white. Of course, he picked grey. Since our relationship was still new, I (of course) abided by his decision. But every day I looked at that grey duvet cover, I wished it had been white. White bedding just brightens up a room better! Just take one look at this quilt from Home Decorators. Plus, it’s less masculine. No wonder he didn’t pick it!
Fast forward a year or two in and I finally bought that same duvet color in white. Finally. Relief! Our bedroom looked a thousand times better – at least, in my opinion. Fast forward another couple years plus a move across country and I was itching for another refresh with some master bedroom ideas I had seen. I loved our furniture still but I wanted some fresh textural bedding. I talked a lot about texture and the design of our bedroom in this post here if you’re curious about the inspiration!
After a little searching, I stumbled upon this gorgeous master bedroom linen Georgette Quilt from Home Decorators and couldn’t stop thinking about it. How dreamy is the pattern? I also loved the dramatic ruffles and pleats of the Hush Bedding Set. However, the floral details might have been a little too much for Matt to handle. Trust me, if I was a single girl, I would have been all over that. I also loved their Day Dreamer set. I’m telling you, I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of white bedding!
Now that we’re in Chicago, throw blankets have become a staple. I found this faux fur blanket and loved the petal-like detailing of the fabric! I was also eyeing this cable knit blanket but didn’t get it just yet. Matt already made a comment about the number of throws I’ve collected in the last 4 months so I’m waiting for a reason to justify it. It comes in 11 colors so it’s really easy to incorporate into any kind of room decor.
With the move, we also needed a refresh on our bath linens! Just like the duvet, Matt and I discussed this extensively the first time around. We spent hours in store while he felt bath mats looking for the perfect memory foam rug. Memory foam? That didn’t sound chic at all to me. And it wasn’t. Trying to be a good girlfriend, I let him get the neon orange bath mat with a giant alligator on it. This time? I changed my tune! Now married, I definitely care more about him but also realize at the end of the day, as long as baseball is on the TV, he’s not going to lose any sleep over the color of our bath towels. None. At all.
However, I kept his need for cushion under his feet in mind when picking out this puff ball bath rug! It is so soft. I couldn’t have guessed it would be this soft from the pictures and I’m a pretty good online shopper! Seriously, I’m impressed. Keeping with the grey theme (our shower curtain is blue and grey), I opted for these turkish bath towels. They offered a little something different to the bathroom. Matt was initially skeptical about their absorbency. Who thinks about the ability to absorb water over how something looks? Men, apparently. After a few uses, I got him to admit they were pretty good despite how thin they seem! They also have a built in place to hang the towel on a hook if you wanted to do that instead of hang on a towel rack! It’s all in the details!
