You guys know I love a good face mask. As I age, making “me” time for routines like this one becomes more important. The difference a good mask makes is worth a few extra minutes in my routine. Plus, it’s always good to treat yourself especially when it comes to good skincare. My latest discovery? This magnetic face mask from Onyx Youth.

There are a lot of weird trends in skincare. As a put the product on, then wash it off, kind of girl, I was intrigued by this magnetic mask. No water? How does this thing work! Korean skincare is known for being trend setters in this area. Since the Onyx Youth magnet mask was developed by Korean scientists, I had high expectations!

The mask application is pretty easy. They give you a tool to spread the mask across your face evenly. After that, you wait 5-10 minutes. Then, you use a magnetic wand (a different tool included in the kit) with a cover to remove the mask. You don’t actually let it touch your skin as the magnet is strong enough so that it picks the mask up off your face. It’s a pretty weird feeling! It feels like you’re peeling off a mask without there actually being any contact. Mentally, I felt like my pores were being cleaned better that way (versus washing it off). It reminded me of a high tech pore strip.

After using it, my face felt really moisturized. The mask contains a bunch of essential oils (you guys know I love these). After removing the black/grey product, you massage what is leftover into your skin. Usually, I can’t wait to moisturize after I use face masks but this was different. It was better (more moisturized) although I still finished the rest of my routine after (I can’t skip a day)! There is also volcanic ash in the mask which is a naturally occurring exfoliator and cleaner. I can’t wait to keep using this to see the improvements in my skin.
