This is big guys! I finally incorporated color into our home! As a self-proclaimed lover of neutrals (have you seen our master and guest bedroom?), this was a step slightly outside my comfort zone. However, once I saw these blue pillows in our living room, I saw that I’ve clearly been missing out! How perfect are these shades of blue for spring?
It’s incredible what refreshing a few pillows can do for your living room. When we first got this couch from Ashley Homestore, I opted for shades of grey and tan. After we moved to Chicago, I did another refresh by utilizing a lot of warm, cozy textures – perfect for the midwest winter! Matt hates how many pillows I have everywhere. So when I brought these blue ones into the house, he made me take the old ones out immediately. He was not about let me get away with even more! Why do men hate pillows so much! I really liked how the mixing and matching of accents turned out (this one is my favorite with the bold print). I was originally unsure of this soft light blue pillow but I like how it makes everything look not too perfect. Do you know what I mean? I mixed in a little grey with geometric stripes to bring out the silver coffee table tray. The mirrored tray seen here is old but I just got this tray from Ashley Home! I love how antique-y it feels! The handles also make it easy to carry and give it a little extra detail. This throw blanket really tied everything together with the blue and grey stripes! I just love anything with tassels. It’s going to be perfect for when it’s a little warmer (AKA not freezing).
Our sectional couch is still one of my favorite parts of the living room though! It’s so incredibly comfortable and there’s plenty of space for 2 to sleep comfortably (if needed). It’s held up really well over the past year! Of course, there are a few spots that are a little more loved than others – if only I could get Matt to sit in a different spot once in awhile. However, you can easily plump up the cushions to get the shape back! The color is such a great foundation to do things like this: a spring living room refresh.

Another thing Matt gets on my case about! I’ve been more committed to actually using the ones I have though before buying new ones.
