When it comes to wear I wear on a daily basis, skirts are often a forgotten item. My morning routine often consists of the same thought. What is easiest to wear? Dresses are great because you don’t have to match them with anything. And jeans just go with everything. Anyone else think like that? Some days, I can’t even. However, if you pick the right skirt it can give you all the versatility of denim and add that “I actually tried” vibe.
If you’re wondering what skirt I’m referring to, it’s this pleated white one by Vince. I’ve been keeping an eye out for white skirts now that spring is here. Since this season is all about ditching the dark washes and moody prints, a white skirt just makes so much more sense. There’s nothing more airy than a flowy midi. It’s totally flower field worthy. Now if only the Midwest had fields of flowers instead of fields with corn…
I love this skirt so much I’ve also had my eye on this pinstripe one (also by Vince). I’m seeing a lot of blue stripes emerging lately like this shirtdress I styled a few weeks back. My tomboy self is pretty thrilled about that.
Nothing says spring like a little pastel either. When I saw this lavender tank top, I swooned. Add a dainty little ruffle and you’ll get a few head turns as you walk down the street. I may or may not be speaking from experience on that one. Matt and I shot this outside Pops for Champagne (has anyone ever been there?). The owner of one of the shops nearby came out and sparked up a conversation with us mid-shoot. I mean, when you see a manly dude in sweatpants and a sweatshirt, taking photos of me all done up, you know something is up. It’s quite a sight.
By this point in the life of VOV, we’ve experienced almost everything during shoots. Cat calls, homeless people trying to teach us magic tricks, torrential downpours… it’s been an eventful journey.
