Today’s post is a little different. While stylish clothing and accessories are still involved, I get to talk about something I’m extremely passionate about. Something that as a woman, and as a career woman, I could not be more supportive of: Starfish Project.

If you’re reading this and wondering what Starfish Project is, let me break it down. While it’s a jewelry business on the surface, it’s so much more once you dig a little deeper. Starfish Project is a non-profit organization designed to help women in Asia escape human trafficking and exploitation. The company empowers women to experience freedom, pursue a career, and be independent. By being a part of the Starfish Project enterprise, women can create beautiful jewelry and/or work as a manager, graphic designer, and photographer. That enables them to start or continue their career in a safe way with a support system they can tap into at any time.

And Starfish Project doesn’t just offer jobs. There are also Holistic Care Programs set up to provide training, shelter, counseling, and education to these women. As a career woman, I understand and appreciate that Starfish Project took it a step further. This really stood out to me personally because it’s so important to have these resources in order to develop well rounded women. These are critical aspects of setting a woman up for success. The best part is that you (yes you!) can contribute to their social mission. How? Shopping. 100% of Starfish Project’s profit is reinvested in the company. This is the kind of retail therapy that makes you warm and fuzzy inside. I’d argue it even makes you feel fulfilled. What’s better, is that the jewelry is affordable and cute. Really cute. These are the pieces that you wear every single day of the week. They are classics that people will ask you about. I’ve been wearing them every day and have gotten so many compliments!

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite pieces from their site but wanted to call out a few first! First, this $45 pearl necklace is just stunning. It’s such a simple but timeless piece and my favorite detail is that it’s adjustable. You can wear it longer or shorten it so that it becomes a choker. I’m wearing it with this $37 bar necklace in today’s post – a combination I definitely will be repeating. I love that the bar on this chain slides around like a charm versus being linked into one spot in the chain. Lastly, these $25 white druzzy earrings have become a staple in my work OOTDs.

If color is your thing, there are a bunch of beautiful jewel toned pieces. When I received my package, the most heartwarming thing was a little tag inside that shared the name of a woman who’s life you were helping to change. It made the mission so much more real.

To put it simply, this is feel good shopping that actually makes a difference in other women’s lives. As females, the best thing we can do is support each other. I’m a huge advocate of this in my professional career and also in my personal life. Whether that’s by giving one another a simple shout out, lending an ear in a challenging time, or supporting an organization that’s on a mission to make change happen, there are so many ways we can boost each other up. And there is no wrong way. Just do something.
