Green Lace Midi Dress (under $100!) | Black Valentino Rockstud Heels | Similar Black Bag | Gold Choker Necklace | Gold Statement Earrings | Lipstick
Matt and I went to a tree lighting this week at the Waldorf Astoria here in Chicago. Before they lit the tree, they said that is what Chicago considered the start of the holiday season! If you caught it on Instagram, the magic was real! It was so beautiful, not to mention romantic. And with the holidays almost here, you’re probably wondering what to wear. I got you!
Finding the perfect holiday dress can be quite the quest. There are so many different cuts and fits. Not to mention so many events this time of year! You want to show up looking as fabulous as ever and so stylishly dressed that people take note. You also want to make sure you’re not re-wearing too often yet getting enough use out of these dresses to justify a new purchase. And if not, it better be a good deal!
If I had to pick just one dress to invest in this season, it would be this green lace midi. I didn’t expect to like it this much but the fit is phenomenal. It doesn’t hug or gap. The straps are adjustable. And the cut is super flattering on a feminine figure. It’s also under $100 ($89 to be exact) and comes in 5 colors including this gorgeous burgundy.
If you’re not feeling this dress, you’re in luck. Here is my holiday dress guide! I broke it up by type of dress and also included my comments so make sure to scroll through the widgets!
Traditional Holiday Dress.
There’s something about a great red or green dress that is timeless. Whether it’s accented with a giant bow or a few ruffles, you simply can’t go wrong with any of these for every single holiday party this year.
Work Party Dress.
You want something that is chic, conservative, and stylish. It might seem like a tall order. You don’t want to turn heads in the wrong way but holiday parties in themselves are so exciting that you want to dress up a little bit. Maybe even let your hair down so to speak. These dresses are perfect for a work event!
Casual Celebration.
Whether you’re with your family or your friends, you might want to treat yourself a little and get into the holiday spirit. You don’t need to spend a fortune! Here are some really affordable, casual options.
The ‘Out of the Box’ Dress.
You know that 99% of people are going to be wearing red, green, or black. You’re not about that. You want to make a statement by wearing a different pop of color. All of these options are gorgeous and you can wear them year round without people thinking of the holidays!
Va Va Velvet.
This is one of my favorite trends this season! This fabric has all the feeling of luxury and it’s so soft to the touch. It’s a little something special that makes you feel dressed up without having to put a ton of effort in!
I hope that helps! What holiday events do you have coming up this year?

The work party dress is indeed a tall order because conservative, stylish, and festive just don’t always gel. I love the third option you have – the black and white one with the bow is simply perfect for New Years.
