Holiday Outfits + What He Really Wants

One of my favorite things to do every year is plan our holiday outfits. Actually, I like doing this year round and not just specific to the holidays. Now, we’re not one of those couples that likes to match per say. However, I do like to make sure that Matt and I compliment each other in case we take a photo together! For the more casual occasions, this is 30 second conversation when Matt asks me what he should wear. When it comes to things that are more formal, I like to put a few more minute of thought into it. Today’s outfits are a play on some velvet goodies from Marks & Spencer and I love how they turned out!

The texture of this velvet dress I’m wearing is so soft that you just want to keep touching it! The sheen is perfect to up the sparkle for NYE too. With the fur jacket, it made for a fun little party look. I also really like these boots because they have a block heel on them so they’re really comfortable.

Matt’s blazer was also really lovely. It fit him really well (he likes the slim fit pieces) and had great details around the collar. I think his favorite part of his outfit was the shoes though. He does like his crazy unique shoes. I wonder where he gets that from! While Matt was shopping for his outfit, I had him pick out a few things from the Marks and Spencer website that he thought would make great gift ideas. For a little behind the scenes, it was about 10 degrees when we were shooting this look! But with the wind chill, it was below 0 degrees! You can see how crazy my hair is blowing in these pictures! I had to wear some fleece lined leggings because there was no way my skin would have survived although I was grateful to have these over the knee boots on for a little more warmth! And poor Matt! After missing his connection due to weather on Friday, he got to stay an extra day here in Chicago. Since there were snowstorms ALL weekend, we had to wake up early and shoot this before work on Monday! He’s such a good sport although he did tell me that we aren’t allowed to do couple photos again until summer…
