Last time Matt and I did a couples shoot, so much was different. We were still living 2,000 miles apart which is crazy to think about. I have to say, I like this time a lot better. That said, there is one thing that is similar between these posts. We’re sharing Rockport shoes for him and her again with you guys! Y’all always ask for Matt to make more appearances here! Even though Matt told me he was retiring after this miserably cold shoot back in December, apparently 50 degree temperatures change his mind…
If there’s one thing to know about the brand Rockport, it’s that these shoes are incredibly comfortable. Matt has a 25 minute walk to work and alternates between wearing his Chukkas from last time and Nikes. That’s how easy on the feet they are. He’s gotten so many compliments from his friends on the styles too. I’m really loving the stitching on these wingtip shoes he just got. He opted to go with the red laces (per my suggestion, of course) and I think they just look really sharp.
On me, I was really drawn to these perforated booties. I feel like my closet always seems to come up short when I’m searching for black heels. Matt will tell you otherwise after having slaved away for a day to build me a shoe shelf. Just realized I’ve never shared that with you guys. Maybe I will have to do that! Do y’all have any interest? It’s the perfect example of how to make the most out of your apartment living. For those of us that don’t have the privilege of owning a home just yet…
Since you guys know Matt is usually my photographer (which he writes about here), we had one of his friends take a stab at being behind the lens this time. We didn’t want to mess with a tripod or trying to find some random ledge like we’ve done in a pinch in the past! So, a huge shout out to Kyle for agreeing to let us con you into this! I repaid them both back with lots of beer at the White Sox game Saturday night.
If you caught any of that on snapchat/IG stories, it was the boys night of boys nights. I think there were 8 guys and me? I’m starting to notice a trend where Matt doesn’t tell me exactly who is coming to these events. He’ll tell me a wife or girlfriend isn’t coming here and there but neglects to say “no other girls are coming”. I’m learning these tricks! All kidding aside, we had a great time except for the cold. I actually enjoy going to sporting events. I rarely know what’s going on in the game because I’m so busy people watching but I love the atmosphere and camaraderie amongst the fans. Basketball games are my fave because of the sound of the squeaky shoes on the court!
