Have you ever wondered how to get glowing skin? Here’s the answer. I’m also going to share how you can save on beauty products too with Ibotta.
When it comes to spring, I feel like every single girl in the world wants to know how to get glowing skin. After months of winter, your skin might look a little dull. Whether it’s from the weather or just your general distaste for the cold, it doesn’t matter. I’ll walk you through the products I use to keep my skin glowing (and even fake it when it’s not quite there).
Before I dive in, I wanted to give you a heads up that you can get 4% cash back on all Sephora and Ulta purchases with the Ibotta app. I first talked about Ibotta here when I rounded up some beautiful bridal shower dresses under $50. Basically, Ibotta is an app on your phone that easily stores coupons and gets you cash back.
How to Get 4% Cash Back with Ibotta
- Shop! You can either head to the Sephora website now or keep reading. Add the products that you are loving!
- Open the Ibotta app.
- Navigate to Sephora offer page and hit the shop button (it’s in red below)!
- Optional: You can either keep something once you have navigated from the app to the Sephora website or you can check out with whatever you had in your cart already!
For someone who’s day job is in finance, I love a good deal. Whenever I can find a way to get one that is easy to use, I’m all about it. The keyword there is easy. I’m not going to spend hours cutting coupons or go to extremes for a few cents but when you can do things with a tap of your iPhone screen, that’s my thing. It’s a game changer and it isn’t just for fashion and beauty. You can also get deals on travel! Stay tuned for more on that!
Since I’ve heard from most of you that Sephora is your go to, I’m rounding up some of my favorites from Sephora. I can’t argue with you, their rewards are just incredible. Plus, when you get 4% cash back with the Ibotta app, that’s like earning double the rewards on every dollar spent. Here are my tips for how to get glowing skin!
1. Hydrate.
If you’ve ever read about my skincare routine (morning here and night here), you know I’m a huge proponent of starting from the inside out. The first step to getting skin that you’re proud of is to hydrate it. A quick google search will tell you how much you should be drinking for your body weight. However, I’ve found that a cute water bottle can give you a little more motivation to actually drink, refill, and repeat. If you want a little extra tip, add a few drops of chlorophyll to your water. It has a slightly minty taste and there is a long list of health benefits. I’ve gotten my coworkers hooked on it. Your skin is your largest organ – show it some love!
2. Serum.
There’s only been one serum I’ve ever used that had enough of a result for Matt to notice. Ladies, when your guy notices a change in your skin, you better hold on to that product for dear life. The serum that did the trick was Jurlique’s Advanced Herbal Recovery Serum. Generally speaking, serums are targeted to prevent anti-aging. However, I noticed that my skin was brighter and more glowy with this serum so that’s why I added it to the list (usually I would skip a serum for a post on how to get glowing skin).
3. Face oil.
You guys know that my love of face oil runs deep. The deepest, in fact. I talk about it at least once a week on Instagram stories. In addition to being liquid gold for your skin (it literally does everything), it will also give you glowing skin if you use it before you put on your makeup. It’s no secret that this face oil and this face oil are my all-time favorites. However, since you can’t earn cash back on them at Sephora through the Ibotta app, I’ve rounded up some of the others I’ve tried from brands I love!
4. Lightweight powder.
If you’re using face oil, you will likely need a lightweight powder to control the glow from the oil. The keyword is lightweight. Too much and you’ll get a glow-less face. If you love dewy skin, you might be able to skip this step. However, I like to play it by ear in the morning and on really shiny days, use a powder to mattify my face just a little. My personal favorite powder is this one. It’s 100% safe and incredibly natural on your face. However, I am sampling this one which is from another safe beauty brand called RMS Beauty (I’ve been testing a ton of their products and have been super impressed). I’m excited because it has a little bit of tint to the powder which I think looks even more natural. If you’re not into the tint, they also make a colorless powder.
5. Highlighter.
This is where sometimes, you just have to fake it. Even if your skincare routine is on point, you might want a little extra glow. In comes the glory of highlighter. Highlighter can take your glow from 0 to 10 in about 20 seconds and for that, I love it. My personal favorite is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector. If you want something a little more subtle (but still noticeable), you need this Hourglass Cosmetics Strobe Palette. Love safe beauty? This Luminizer Set by RMS Beauty also works really well. If you’re more of a bronzer kind of girl, get that sun kissed glow by incorporating some of this serum bronzer by Bare Minerals. All of these products will help those cheekbones really pop and give you the illusion of light hitting your face in the perfect place, every single time.
6. Lip gloss.
Even if you’re not a lip gloss girl, there’s something about a sheen on your lips that completes any guide to how to get glowing skin. Here’s my favorite natural lip color to add a little shine to your face. You can also go with this crowd favorite by Buxom. If you’re looking for something with more of a pop, try these Huda Beauty lip glosses in any of the shimmery shades.
7. Mist.
When all is said and done, you might want to finish it off with a little mist. Some use setting spray. I prefer a dewy mist that really gets your skin to glow. This Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist is one of my favorite products if you’re up for it!
REMEMBER: In order to get 4% cash back, you have to open the Ibotta app and go to the Sephora website through the app!
Do you have any tips for how to get glowing skin? What products do you use? Have you used the Ibotta app to get 4% cash back?
