Fun Summer Accessories

There are a million reasons to love accessories. My favorite one? They fit no matter what size you are. Today’s outfit combines all of my favorites that I’ve been wearing to death this summer!

When I think of summer’s hottest accessories, this Cult Gaia bamboo bag is clearly a front runner. While I initially thought it was incredibly impractical, I ordered it after seeing it about 10,000 times on my Instagram feed. It turns out, it goes with a lot of outfits and if you’re headed on vacation, you can pretty much use this one bag for every look. My credit cards haven’t fallen out when I’ve carried them loosely in the bag but I would recommend carrying a little coin purse inside just in case.

Fun fact: I had actually ordered it last year but they were taking so long to process orders (i.e. after summer was over) that I ended up canceling my order. I knew that a summer bag would be of zero use in a Chicago snowstorm. Unfortunately, I was right. Why did I move here again? Haha.

That said, I’ve seen a bunch of different takes on this bamboo bag including some pretty good dupes for under $70 (duplicates for those of you who haven’t seen this word before). I know the $128 price tag is pretty high. I’ve even suggested to my girlfriends that they get the dupe instead. Most of them happily take my advice but there is the girl who is loyal to brand names. If that’s you, go for it! Also, my recommendation would be to order the small. The large looks incredibly ridiculous size-wise IMO. Plus, the small is cheaper! The newest one by Cult Gaia is this gorgeous pink color. Here are my favorites

My next favorite accessory are these white beaded earrings. I’ve been on a white earring kick lately because I feel like it really brightens up your face. Lastly, white sunglasses. These wayfarers are by Tom Ford and are years old (last seen here on major sale for under $100). I never thought I needed white sunglasses until Matt and I were aimless wandering a mall in LA one afternoon. We stumbled into a sunglasses store and started trying on pairs for fun. Little did we know we would both walk out with some new shades. To this day, I constantly get compliments on these and I’m pretty sure it’s just because of the color. Just like earrings, sunglasses really pop and brighten your face. So instead of buying another pair of those mirrored black sunnies, try going with white!
