Museums aren’t really my thing. Slowly pacing through exhibits, admiring old stuff, speaking in a hushed voice? No thanks. My pace is fast (sometimes even fast-forward, if you ask Matt), I prefer things new, and my volume is loud. I’m just now accepting that I won’t ever be able to stare at a painting for an hour, discovering something new every 5 minutes and I’ll walk at least twice as fast as everyone else inside. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate it all, I just do it in fast-forward.
However, when LACMA opened an exhibit on the Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress I knew that this was the event for me. I mean, a shrine to one of the most notable fashion icons? The designer of my most favorite iPhone case AND the all-flattering wrap dress? How could I miss this opportunity? I couldn’t. If you don’t live in LA or haven’t visited but share my complete adoration for DVF, you can catch a glimpse of the exhibit from the photos above! Enjoy! But you should really just go.

how i wish I could be in LA right now! I would love to see this… I have a vintage wrap dress from the 70s (from my stylish mom) and I just bought my first one a month ago! I’m already hooked and scouring ebay and vintage shops… looks like a great exhibit, I’m hoping it will come to the Design Exchange (a fashion museum in Toronto) someday…
