Dress Your Vest

So, I ended 2015 in grey and I’m starting 2016 in grey too. Clearly, one of my New Year’s resolutions wasn’t to expand my color palette. I hope each of you had a wonderful holiday season! We’ve spent the last 2 weeks in Chicago visiting family and friends which has been so nice. It’s even snowed a few times which makes me beyond happy personal although everyone else seems to respond by groaning!

I’ve combined a few winter essentials in today’s post. First, these faux leather leggings. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worn them in the last 2 weeks whether as pants, with a dress, or under my jeans to keep warm. If you’re looking for thermal leggings, these Nike leggings have saved me big time while I’ve been in Chicago. I’ve been layering them under my faux leather leggings and it works pretty well!

Second, I love this flared turtleneck dress. It makes a great base for shearling vests, leather moto jackets, and all of the plaid scarves you could possibly wear within a season. You can use it to create and edge look or one that’s softer – and if there’s anything I’ve learned from being in freezing temperatures, versatility is key in building a winter wardrobe. It’s a little on the short side so if you’re tall like me, I’d recommend ordering up a size!
