A Dress A Day: Girls Night Out Dress (Day 17)

Girls nights out are one of the best parts of life. I love hanging out with Matt (and the boys) but sometimes, girl talk is the best medicine. There are just some things that a guy, even your guy, will not understand. For example, why leaving manscaping hair all over the bathroom is NOT okay. Or maybe why playing video games all the time gets annoying. Or even why you needed those new sandals. The list goes on (Matt and I wrote about each other’s annoying habits here). That’s when you need to turn to your best girls and have a mini vent sesh.

 

I put on this lemon printed dress and Matt told me “you look like a can of Sprite.” Nothing sounds appealing about looking like a can of soda. Cans of soda are pretty boxy right? And my body is anything but. But that was one of those moments where I couldn’t tell if it was a compliment or an insult. That’s where girls come in. I know for a fact my friends would have been gushing about the cute print. The cutouts would have been a home run with them while with Matt, they appear to have been a strike out. Great, now I’m even talking like him.

 

All that really matters is that you like something at the end of the day, right? Oh, and your girlfriends too. If we’re being honest, I don’t remember the last time I dressed up to impress a guy. Sure, I like to get Matt’s buy in on my date night outfits but more often than not, I’m dressing up for the girls. A girl knows what’s up. If she gives you a compliment, you’ve done well.

 

So when you’re getting ready for your next girls night, feel free to break out those fun pieces your man may have rolled his eyes about. Who cares what he thinks? With summer almost here, dresses, rompers, and off the shoulder tops are my recommendation. If you’ve had something sitting in your closet for awhile, break it out!
