A Dress A Day: Food Festival (Day 24)

Ever heard of a food baby? I get them like crazy. I heard on the news that they decided to open a Nutella cafe in Chicago because Midwesterners love to eat. While I’m not sure I love that image of my relatively new home, they made the right call. The line has been down the block for 2 weeks. I’ve also been promised a summer of food festivals. I guess what they say is true. So when you’re taste testing your way through a Saturday, here’s what you wear.

There are very few times in life when I support a shift dress. It’s just not ideal for my body type (wide hips). However, when it comes to beach days and food festivals, I’m all in. I want to be comfortable. Which brings me to this cute little tassel shift! If I’m going to be bulging through the mid section, I want it to go unnoticed. Forgiving cuts are my new best friend just like fried oreos. Jk. I tried a fried Oreo once and decided I’d rather eat a regular Oreo.

If you’re at a food festival, chances are you’re walking around which is why I chose these sandals with this dress. I reviewed them on my Instagram Stories after our trip to Tulum! If you missed it, they’re a great basic sandal with a slight heel (half inch) that offers a lot of comfort. They come in multiple colors and heel heights too! I also talked about these which are so cute in blush pink!

So while I eat my way into becoming a midwesterner this summer, this is what you’ll find me wearing. Keeping it cute but also comfortable. Hopefully these sleeves distract anyone from the mac and cheese/pizza/taco baby I’m growing! If not, oh well. I tried, right? Here are a few more of my favorite dresses by this brand! While I might not recommend them all for a food festival, they are just the most gorgeous pieces. Everything I’ve tried by them has been super flattering and I just snagged this blue cold shoulder one too.
