A Dress A Day: Dinner on a Patio Dress (Day 13)

I said this a few times since the move but patios are big here. Really big. If an establishment has a few slabs of empty concrete in front of it, it transforms into an outdoor eating locale come summer. These odd little corners seemingly pop out of nowhere! Somewhere, someone decides it’s time to set up the planter boxes and chairs and poof! What do you have? A patio fit for a casual date night. But what do you wear? This off the shoulder dress. And how perfect is this one for this A Dress A Day series?

So far my patio experiences have largely been with Matt on impromptu date nights. For a real date night dress, remember day 1 of this series? But casual is the name of this game especially when the “patio” is in the middle of the sidewalk. The fabric of this striped midi is a lightweight cotton so it’s not too fancy. It’s also breathable which can really come in handy later in the summer. I also love the bold navy and white print. This dress has a little nautical vibe to it if you should find yourself on a boat this summer!

Usually, I like to wear flats when we are picking up a quick bite. Matt walks at the speed of light so it’s easier to keep up. However, for a dinner out, I like to put on some comfy heels. Comfy being the key word. I never thought I was a mule girl until I saw my friend Leah from Eat Pray Wear Love wearing them. I was sold. I bought these last spring and they are incredibly easy on the feet.

I wasn’t able to find them online again but I recently bought these by the same brand (and you’ll see them later in this series)! Same comfort level! I did some extensive research (AKA shopping), to round up some of my favorite mules this season. See below for the results! I really tried to focus on the cushion in the sole because I’m convinced that’s what makes a difference. And these are only $20!!
