Call me crazy, but everything seems a little bit darker in Chicago. I’m not talking dark as in depressing but as in light coming from the sky. Between the clouds and skyscrapers, it’s a completely different vibe that Los Angeles. For the first time in my life, I feel like I’m living in a city! And I’m 100% obsessed. My only negative experience so far was the “ugh” I received from our mailroom attendant when I had too many packages from Zappos waiting for me before I moved in! I owe her big time. 

Everyone knows the Midwest is colder than California. A lot colder. Even that might be an understatement. While I’m busy stocking up on boots, I’m also doing a little refresh on my denim selection. Finding the perfect pair of jeans is a struggle. It’s tough! Between general fit, cut, not to mention possible body issues, I’m surprised any girl wears pants! It is definitely my least favorite shopping activity. I’d rather shop for drywall, honestly.

There are a few brands that I’ve stayed loyal to over the years. Call me a creature of habit but there’s something behind the phrase “tried and true”. One of those brands is Hudson Jeans. Since the move, I’ve noticed styling jeans with boots is an art – especially with booties. You don’t want awkward bunching if there’s too much fabric at the ankle. Eventually, it will be too cold for cuffing as an alternative too. That’s why I bought these Nico Distressed Skinnies – the tapered calf makes it super easy to style with both tall boots and booties.

Since it was raining out (the weather is unpredictable here!), I layered up with this boyfriend cardigan and infinity scarf! This outfit was perfect for grabbing lunch with Matt in our neighborhood. We literally just walked across the street. After a day of unpacking boxes, it was all the energy we could muster! I helped myself to another few nachos thanks to the stretch in these jeans!   28. Love those jeans! They fit perfect. I visited Chicago and it is so pretty! You will at least enjoy dressing up for fall and winter!
