Purple Cowl Neck Knit ($33, limited sizes!) | Beige Over the Knee Boots (50% off!) | Beige Crossbody Bag | Peplum Coat | Tortoise Sunglasses | Tassel Necklace
A cowl neck sweater dress is perfect for those “in between” days. Keep reading for how my definition of “in between” has changed over the last year…
Anyone who lives in Chicago knows we’ve been having a heat wave lately. And by “heat wave”, I mean we are teetering around freezing at 32 degrees. After weeks of being sub-zero, both Matt and I walked to work on Monday and thought that it actually felt warm out. I was surprised I didn’t see some guy going for his morning run in shorts. It’s amazing how a few weeks of frigid temperatures will really change your perspective. Trust me, before moving to Chicago I never thought I’d be one to describe freezing as “warm.”
There comes a certain point in winter (apparently it’s 3 weeks in for me), where I’m just plain tired of wearing pants and leggings. Don’t get me wrong, I love my faux leather leggings. However, I really love dresses. They’re just my jam. Easy to wear, less to match, and so flattering for my curvy figure. I’m counting down the days until spring. Or as any midwest or east coast girl knows, Memorial Day because we went straight from winter to summer last year. That’s why I love the cowl neck sweater dress. It’s perfect for the cold yet is so comfy and still keeps you reasonably warm. I wouldn’t recommend it for those days with so much wind chill that you can’t breathe right. But 32 degrees will work! This cowl neck sweater dress is almost sold out so I linked to a few more favorites! Most are under $50 too.
I also broke out this white peplum coat again. Last I saw, it was on major sale in a few other colors (see below). I love a good white coat for every season except summer. There’s something magical about winter whites. Fall looks can be made ultra chic with a good white coat. And spring is an obvious choice for white. It just makes those April showers a little less gloomy.
Today’s boots are also 50% off! I love them so much that I bought them in this color (Havano) after wearing the Foxy color all last fall. While the colors look similar, there’s definitely a different tone. The Foxy color is more taupe which I found a little restricting in terms of matching my handbags to. Since they’re so comfortable, I also wanted a true beige and 50% is a steal. Size up a half size at least if you plan to wear with thick socks! Size up a full size if you have larger calves – even though I have large calves and didn’t have an issue with a half size bigger, I could have gone up a full size and it would be easier to take them off! Seriously though. I love them and also have the flat version in black which are 33% off! They made my list of the best tall boots too!
Do you wear pants or dresses more? Can you wear a cowl neck sweater dress during winter where you live?
