Casual Weekend

Before I start, I’m aware that the title of this post might be misleading. I know it’s a Wednesday which is the farthest from a weekend that you can get – and one might argue this post title makes it even more painful to last through the next 2 days. BUT it’s relevant, I promise.

After scrolling through a few pages of my blog, one might conclude that I dress up a lot. A LOT. Always in heels with layers of jewelry (I love the sound of bangles clacking against each other), I’m pretty put together. Truth be told, you’ll often find me in casual weekend wear like this when I’m not in front of the camera. Consistently pressed for time in the mornings, it’s Paige jeans and an Anthropologie shirt for most of the week. Not that I don’t love those brands because I pretty much live and die by them – it’s just predictable.

Predictable isn’t always bad. Take the jean jacket which has been trending since sometime in the early 2000s. It’s classic and oh so easy to throw on over anything. Converse – another trend in my early teens – have also survived the test of fashion time. Together, these two pieces are a solid reminded of my middle school years. While they were terribly awkward, I’m totally digging this look which is above all comfortable.
