Button Up Style

Whew. What a busy week! Beyond excited that it is Friday once again and I’m kicking off the weekend with this easy breezy look. I once thought button ups were only for the office but I’ve loved incorporating them into my weekend wear. I think it adds a touch of class (and maybe says you mean business too). I’ve worn this short sleeved button up about a hundred times over the last couple months – styling it with boyfriend shorts for a casual look, under sleeveless work dresses for the office, and with A-line midi skirts for the weekends. Never underestimate the power of a great basic piece! PS. do you call it a button up or a button down?

Matt and I had a chance to explore UCLA where we snapped these photos. As a USC alum, I’ve hesitated to visit despite how close we live, feeling like I owe my allegiance to the Trojans! But after being perpetually out of town, it’s so nice to actually spend a weekend at home exploring your neighborhood. We also caught a few glimpses of the Special Olympics that were being held on campus too!

This Duluth Pack bag was perfect for the setting – reminding me of school backpacks but in a more sophisticated way. I feel like if I was back in college today, my attire would be so much more buttoned up (get it?). If only I could do it again! Minus all the homework. I will admit the UCLA campus was beautiful although I personally think USC’s is just a tiny bit prettier! Can’t wait until football season!
