Button Down Denim Midi

I am all about utility pieces. You know, things that can be worn over and over, proving useful season after season. Aptly named, the utility jacket is one of these pieces. I’ve been wearing this army green J.Crew jacket for a few seasons and I haven’t run out of ways to style it yet. The oversized pockets and loosely cuffed sleeves exude “girl on the go”. As a girl who is constantly on the move, running between work, the gym, and a social life, I find that pieces like this suit my lifestyle and make things really easy. Isn’t that what we all want after a day at the office? Whether I’m running out the door and need something to throw on last minute or am actively trying to create a look, I love a great utility piece.

The other thing I tend to wear on the daily is silver jewelry. I’ve slowly built up a collection of quality pieces in the last few years. I love bargain pieces too but I find that I often get annoyed with how quickly they tarnish or fall apart. While the price tag may be slightly higher, the quality of a great piece is unparalleled. I think it goes with out saying how critical a great white tee is to a closet. This white tee from LA Made is just perfect. I really wanted to pair it with this denim midi skirt for that casual vibe but throw in a black high heeled pump for that I-look-like-I-tried-but-I-really-didn’t look. I’m so in love with the juxtaposition of everything that it turned out to be the perfect LA outfit. As temperatures rose this weekend, I found I had to even take off the jacket when we were out in Santa Monica! Winter was fun for the 2 weeks it lasted but I’m not mad that it’s supposed to be 80 degrees all week. Beach day this weekend? Yes please!
