Winter Coat in Niagra Grape | White Mixed Knit Sweater | Faux Leather Leggings | Thermal Leggings (worn underneath and so good for winter!) | Grey Scarf (under $10) | Black Over the Knee Boots | Black Satchel Bag | White Pom Beanie | Black Sunglasses | Lipstick in ‘Miss Conduct’
True story: I walked into the elevator one morning and some random guy goes “ugh, at least you didn’t get the black one”. He was referring to my coat. Given I was on my way to work, I was a little taken aback. At 8:30AM, my mind isn’t exactly firing on all cylinders. Or rather, its firing on so many cylinders I’m in my own little world trying to get myself to work on time!
Turns out the guy was pretty nice despite his interesting choice to start a conversation. The thing is, Canada Goose coats are everywhere in Chicago. With all the winter coat options out there, I did my research (before investing) by observing what people wore on the streets. I’m so glad I did! A good jacket is a huge investment. I can see why so many people wear this brand!
I ultimately decided to go with this winter coat because the fit was so much more slimming than all the other, lower priced coats at Nordstrom. The store on Michigan Ave has a whole section dedicated to coats so I made it a point to try on a ton of brands. This one was far more flattering and puffers are real hard to look cute in! I’ve never looked back since. Plus, Canada Goose offers a lifetime guarantee which means you don’t ever have to replace it unless you’re looking for another style!
I opted for the coat in the color Niagara Grape. As the guy in the elevator alluded too, black felt a little too boring. I’ve been able to wear it with all kinds of colors like grey (for example, this $10 scarf!), pink, and even hunter green! Plus, I love a bold lipstick and a red coat balances it out perfectly!
If you missed my post on the 5 things you need to survive winter, you can read it here. I’m wearing everything in it! These photos were from a few weeks back before our heat wave! And yes, I just referenced to the 50 degree weekend we had as a heat wave haha! I didn’t even need to wear my thermal leggings this weekend. Although, I’m totally obsessed with them! They’re not only great for staying warm but also for working out outside in the winter (no matter where you live). Plus, the Nike logo is so cute!
P.S. what is the weirdest way a guy has started a conversation with you? It’s Tuesday so we all need a few laughs, right? Only 4 more days until the weekend!

I am absolutely obsessed with your coat! While I tend to gravitate toward black, that color is gorgeous and looks amazing with your lip color.
Yesterday a man visiting my office asked me if I was okay because it must have hurt when I fell from Heaven. Here’s to hoping that both of us encounter no more weird comments from men this week ;)
