Mauve Turtleneck (40% off, comes in 6 colors!) | Black Skinny Jeans | Similar Taupe Satchel (budget friendly option) | Taupe Booties | Tortoise Sunglasses (more Karen Walker Sunglasses here) | Gold Earrings
It’s sweater weather here in Chicago! I started looking for the best sweaters for fall a few weeks ago but surprisingly, wasn’t able to find a lot. However, it seems like stores have finally caught on and the selection is much better. So what are the sweaters worth investing in this fall? Here are my top picks for the best fall sweaters.
As I mentioned on Instagram Stories this past week, I’m in love with this mauve turtleneck. I wouldn’t usually splurge on a sweater like this (especially because Free People sweaters don’t always flatter me!) but if you invest in one this year, make it this one. Just remember to size down because it’s a little oversized. As soon as I put it on, I knew it was going to be a staple for me this season. It’s just so warm and when the weather gets colder, that’s exactly what I need. Plus, the fit is really good. I also love that it’s tunic length so you can also wear this with leggings. This turtleneck sweater comes in 3 colors so if you’re on the fence, I’d recommend going with the ivory – it’s basic enough to pair with just about everything. Here are the other colors it comes in!
For the rest of your sweater wardrobe, there are a lot of budget friendly options out there! Here are some of my favorite sweaters that I’ve tried this fall.
BEST CARDIGAN SWEATERS FOR FALL
For the softest sweater you’ll ever own, the Barefoot Dreams sweaters are at the top of my list. You haven’t lived until you’ve felt a Barefoot Dreams cardigan (or blanket). Trust me. If you haven’t, put that on your to do list. I bought this blanket for my office at work and it has significantly increased my work happiness! I also got these socks for later in winter!
For a more unique cut, try this balloon sleeve cardigan under $50 that I got from AE. I love how it works with boyfriend jeans! You also know my love of Abercrombie has resurfaced lately (although I’m pretty picky about my favorite pieces). I grabbed this cable knit cardigan because I needed a white cardigan!
BEST CREWNECK SWEATERS FOR FALL
The highlights for me this chenille sweater (in 2 colors) and this puffed sleeve sweater that I styled in one of my work outfits. Crewnecks are always my go to for styling over my favorite white button down shirt. It gives you a preppy vibe for the office and then you can change it up for the weekend!
BEST V-NECK SWEATERS FOR FALL
The most affordable v-neck sweater for fall is this one that I shared in one of my outfits of the day. It’s incredibly soft and the quality is outstanding for being $45. Snag it in any color they have in your size. It’s truly one of the most comfortable pieces!
BEST TURTLENECK SWEATERS FOR FALL
Aside from the turtleneck I’m wearing above, this under $50 cowl neck is my second favorite. If you missed Monday’s outfit of the day, I talked about how good the quality is. I’d recommend grabbing it as soon as possible because 2 of the colors have already sold out! You can pair all of these with my favorite faux leather leggings (they are a miracle worker on your legs)!
BEST MOCKNECK SWEATERS FOR FALL
Mockneck sweaters are my favorite to pair with wool coats because of how the necklines compliment each other. This French Connection sweater is one of my personal favorites this season. It’s another investment piece but I do like the fit and how the fabric falls (it’s not too bulky). It also comes in 3 colors!
What are your favorite fall sweaters this year? If you have something we need to try, let me know!
