Today’s category for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of my (and your) favorites! Even though I’m not a girly girl, I find dresses to be so easy to style and they often turn out to be the most flattering articles of clothing. My whole mantra in life is to wear things that flatter. I stick to the tried and true shapes so I know that when I order something online, it’s going to work! Today, I’m sharing the best dresses from the sale at two price points – those under $50 and those under $100. Earlier in the week I covered the best sweaters and last week I rounded up the cutest booties so be sure to check those out too!
It’s tough to pick favorites but this lace up black swing dress (seen above) might be it for me. It’s under $30 and has a really forgiving fit. It’s also available in burgundy which I convinced my sister to get so we can share! If you’re above 5’5″, I’d recommend sizing up for height. The look of the dress won’t be affected by sizing up because of the style but you’ll get an extra couple inches of height! I’m loving the look of black and tan lately so I paired this dress with these braided suede booties and this $36 cognac bag that are also in the #NSale.
DRESSES UNDER $50
I just bought this $38 olive shirt dress after combing through the sale again this morning! I’m really excited to be able to style it as not only a dress by as a vest with a pair of cute skinny jeans (these are $50) and a basic tee (this one is only $15 in 6 colors!) . If you’re looking for an easy everyday, multi purpose dress, I also recommend this shift dress which is currently $32. It comes in 8 colors (I own it in baby blue from their summer line) and is another one of those items that you can throw on in a hurry. Again, if you’re over 5’5″, size up for length! A few of these picks are running out of stock FAST like this $32 blue chambray off the shoulder dress so shop now before the sale opens to the public tomorrow!
DRESSES UNDER $100
The most flattering of these dresses under $100 is easily this dotted fit and flare. The pattern draws attention to the waist and gives you that beautiful hourglass figure (even if you don’t have one to begin with). If you’re not into the dots, Topshop has also created this eyelet black dress which is similar a little less coming in at $63. Both dresses can easily be worn for multiple occasions by switching up your accessories to keep things fun! This floral Cynthia Steffe dress also caught my eye – I’ve worn several of her dresses before and really like how amazing the quality is for the price point. This is one of those wear now AND later pieces. You could easily bring it out for a summer wedding and then make it fall appropriate with your favorite grey suede accessories.
This little cowl neck dress is only $25! Can you believe it? Just look at how happy my face is about that!! It comes in 10 colors/prints (I also got the black and beige striped – was so tempted by the navy striped one). It runs true to size (I’m wearing a small) and is just so comfortable. It’s the type of dress you could throw on in a hurry or layer over leggings for the fall. I paired this with these braided suede booties again (really getting a lot of mileage out of them) because I loved how the colors complimented each other. The heel is really modest and they’re easy to walk in so I could totally see myself wearing this as my weekend uniform come September! I added this tassel necklace (also on sale!) to create a vertical slimming effect – this necklace can be worn so many ways! I love to layer it with my other smaller gold pieces (like this $12 gold bar necklace)!
If this navy blue ruffled hem dress is left in your size, snag it immediately! It’s selling out so fast! If it’s not, just check back regularly as they restock. It’s such a flattering and versatile piece. You could easily wear this to work with your favorite classic pumps (6 colors at $70) or some cute lace up flats (6 colors at $60). You could also wear it on the weekends with cute little booties for a night our with the girls!
Hope that helps! What dress is your favorite? Did you snag any of the same ones I did?
