One of the most exciting parts of wedding planning for me was picking the dress. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted but I knew I wanted to make a statement. A big statement. Shape, material, color – I didn’t have the slightest clue!
After a little research, I discovered the designer Galia Lahav who happened to be doing a trunk show in LA. This dress was the very first dress I slipped into and I didn’t even pick it out initially! When Galia saw me in it, she exclaimed “That dress was MADE for you. You absolutely must wear it!” I was completely flattered and humbled but wasn’t quite ready to decide. You’re not supposed to make a decision this important in a matter of minutes, right? I took a few nights to sleep (and dream) on it and realized, this was it. I loved having my mom and sister there to break out the champagne for toasts once I said yes!
I didn’t show my wedding dress to anyone except immediate family before my wedding day – I wanted it to be a surprise for all my guests to make it more fun for them! I was all about creating an experience. I wanted every detail to be thought out so our guests had a cohesive event. I wanted them to have an amazing time and walk away saying it was the wedding of the year. The dress was just one part of this and it definitely held its own!

Gorgeous, definitely a statement! Confession: I drive past a bridal shop on my way to work every morning, and they always have gorgeous dresses in the window. I loved my wedding dress, but I found it quickly and didn’t try on many others. Sometimes I want to pretend I’m on the search again just to go try on various dresses! ;)
