A Dress A Day: Fourth of July (Day 30)

It’s the last day of this series and I’m cheating. While it’s been so fun to share dresses for every occasion with you, I’d be lying if I said I’m not excited to finish it! I knew from the beginning it would be a ton of work. I didn’t know just how much it would be though. I also knew I’d need to get Matt (my Instagram husband) on board. What a trooper he is! In all fairness I initially asked him in a moment of weakness (AKA when he was a few beers in at a brewery). I know what I’m doing. But he agreed and I couldn’t be more grateful he helped me pull this off!

One thing I’d love to hear from you guys is if you enjoyed it. Did you? Was it a hit or miss for you? Should I do it again? Change it up? Do a different item? What do you think?

While you’re thinking of some great feedback for me, let me tell you why I’m cheating. It’s a few things. I really wanted to find a Fourth of July outfit for y’all but couldn’t find any dresses that I loved. However, when this white skirt and striped one shoulder top showed up on my doorstep, I was immediately inspired.  Skirts are close enough right? I’d argue I’m doing one better than a dress because you can break apart this outfit and wear it multiple ways. So you’re welcome. How’s that for turning cheating into a positive?

After Matt and I shot this outfit, I also wore it to work. So, it’s versatile. Tired of me explaining why I believe in things that can be worn multiple times, yet? I put the jean jacket from Mondays post over it to make it more work appropriate and swapped out sandals for some classic grey pumps. If you still don’t have a summer tote, this bag in a bunch of other colors is almost half off right now! Here are some of my favorites!

Now, I’ve also talked about why I’m not really the girl to wear red, white, and blue all at the same time in this post. But should you be that girl, and there’s nothing wrong with that, I’d swap out my shoes and bag for little pops of red. I’ve done this in the past but I’m currently having a love affair with the color grey. Here are a few options for you that I think would pair perfectly!

Matt and I actually got married on July 4th (it was the only day our venue was available)! So, we will be celebrating our second anniversary from Cuba! I also convinced one of my bridesmaids to come with us which will be extra special since I haven’t seen her since I left California!
