A Dress A Day: Baseball Game Dress (Day 12)

Take me out to the ball game… if you’ve been following me on IG Stories then you know I find myself at a baseball game more than I would have thought. Matt, my Instagram husband, does such a good job supporting this blog that the least I can do is watch some sports and crack open some peanuts. I know there are other “baseball wives” out there (because y’all have DMed me). So for those gals that find themselves in a stadium every few weeks, or days if you’re really lucky, here’s what to wear. With Memorial Day here, I bet there’s more than a few of you!

Sneakers, obviously (yes, they’re mens). When you are climbing those stairs in the upper deck, you need to be ready for anything. Heels aren’t an option unless you want to call attention to yourself. To each babe, her own, right? I’ve never really been a Converse girl which is why I’ve always opted for these Jack Purcells. I have Converse but I just don’t think I’m edgy/retro/whatever-the-word-is enough. Plus they make my size 9 feet look like platypus feet. I had a pair of these Jack Purcells in fifth grade so these shoes def muster up some nostalgia too.

Since my legs are pretty muscular, I’m extra picky when it comes to pairing dresses and sneakers. Matt has referred to me as “mustang” before because of it. Even though I’m far from toned enough to run with any speed (wasn’t built for long distance), it’s a compliment. Matt endlessly tries to build bulk in his legs while I endlessly try to get rid of mine. The difference between a man and a woman, right?

So since I’m skipping out on the height of a heel when I wear sneakers, I really try to find flattering t-shirt dresses. When you’re going to a ball game, I like to wear some kind of soft cozy dress with your staple jean jacket. To show support for my team, I wear a team hat (which you’ve also seen on IG Stories – go SOX!). I’m comfortable, the sun is blocked from my face (so important for good skin), and I achieve that effortless look. Admittedly, I’ll also be found in a jersey from time to time but that didn’t fit with my dresses theme. Nothing makes Matt more excited then when I put on that jersey. You’d think I was giving him a son that was guaranteed to be a first round draft pick for the White Sox. When happiness is that easy to achieve, you gotta give in, right?
