It’s almost here!! The week of the BIGGEST sale of the year: the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! If you missed my guide on everything you need to know about the NSale, give it a quick read before the sale begins. With the sale starting Thursday, it’s time to prepare. Here are my tips for shopping the sale like a pro!

Before you start, just accept that shopping for fall in July is weird. Really weird. But the savings in the NSale are worth it! Prices go back up after the sale and there’s nothing like the regret of missing out on a good deal!

1. Bookmark my NSale landing page.

This page is going to be your guide for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale from July 13th (when Early Access starts) to August 6th when it ends. I’ll also be sharing my favorite items on Instagram for more real time coverage so follow me there too! If you don’t want to bookmark, you can easily get to it from the menu bar on the homepage. It’s pink so it stands out! I’ll continue to update this page throughout the sale, helping you navigate the thousands of deals!

2. Make a list.

Take a look at your closet. What do you need? More basics? A warm coat for winter? Make a list of the items that you need to get you through fall and winter. There are thousands of items in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale so this will help you block out all the noise. It’s very easy to get overwhelmed with all the items on sale and a list helps you remember what you need. Here are some items that I’m looking for this year. Since I moved to Chicago last fall, I’ll be focused on amping up my cold weather wardrobe because I was definitely not prepared last winter!

  • Basic tees and tops under $50
  • Boots (especially over the knee boots and a pair of riding boots because I wore mine out last year)
  • A warm, structured coat
  • Thick cozy sweaters
  • Loungewear (I’ve been looking for some cute PJs but it’s hard to find flattering ones!)
  • Beauty deals
  • Luggage? (hoping there are some cute pieces in the sale)

3. Shop EARLY and FAST!

As I mentioned in my guide to everything you need to know about the NSale, things will sell out. There will definitely be people who are planning to be awake at midnight when the sale go live. The deals are so crazy good it’s worth a day of exhaustion at the office! And I’m going to be one of those people so that you don’t have to be! Check back here on Thursday morning for my first post on the must have items from the sale. I will be posting daily by category but will do a big round up Thursday morning. And if you ever have questions, just shoot me an email here! I live for this event!

4. Shop online.

This is a must! Since items sell out so fast, shopping online is your best bet to ensuring you get the things you really want. I know some of you might not be as comfortable shopping online but Nordstrom has such a great return policy. Don’t be afraid to order 2 sizes if you’re unsure and just return the one that doesn’t work for you! You can also order online and pick up in store if you’re located near a bigger Nordstrom!

5. Breathe.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a 3 week marathon shopping event. While items will sell out, it’s not the end of the world if they do. Sometimes Nordstrom will restock a certain item (I’ll be notifying you about those here on the blog and on Instagram)! But the likelihood of every single item you want, selling out is low. So, buy what you can when you can, and don’t be afraid to place multiple orders!

  23. What a beautiful ruffle skirt! good advice for sale shopping too :) I extended my 6 months without shopping itno no buy July so I’ll be missing out on this sale, but the high shipping costs to Australia usually put me off anyway!
