It’s officially Valentine’s Day week! Now that the Super Bowl is over, we can start planning an event that really matters. Just kidding. Being married to a sports fanatic has definitely taught me to appreciate certain aspects of the game. My takeaway from yesterday’s match? When filling out a prop sheet, blindly filling out your predictions is better than trying to answer each question thoughtfully. I made a pretty pattern on my form without any regard and won yesterday’s pool! I was as shocked as everyone else and they actually watched the game. I think Matt was most shocked – not quite sure how to interpret that but hey, we won.
Now let’s talk about Sunday. Do you know what you’re wearing yet? I clearly skipped straight to the important part. This ensemble is a fab option and you might be able to create it with what’s already hanging in your closet. If not, Nordstrom has super fast shipping should you need to add a few pieces to recreate it. I love the red lace for a little romance. It’s SUCH a perfect color and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it not flatter a gal. The feather coat adds the perfect amount of softness too because even the toughest girl has a little bit of a soft side. Together, it’s a pairing that exudes old Hollywood glamour. I love it.
So what’s on your agenda? Matt and I are going to a trendy (but not so trendy that there’s prix fixe menu – I hate that!) restaurant in Santa Monica. Perhaps followed with some champagne (beer for Matt) and chocolate! We’re not super mushy in general but Matt usually sneaks some surprise in there to make the day extra special. Last year for Valentine’s Day, he sent me on a scavenger hunt which recalled some of the most special moments in our relationship and ended with flowers and jewelry. Lilies and David Yurman to be exact. I have to admit that the kid knows the way to my heart. I’ve been on a sour candy kick lately so I suspect that might find its way into some part of next weekend! He’s such a good valentine.
Yumi Kim fur coat (on sale!) | Nordstrom red lace dress (great for Valentine’s Day) | Burgundy pumps (almost sold out but I am OBSESSING over these) | Burgundy clutch | Baublebar bracelet | Wildfox white heart sunglasses | Gold hoop earrings
Not sure this red lace dress is the dress for you? I’ve linked to a few similar options below too!
