Shoes for Spring with Rockport

You know what’s better than new shoes for spring? Comfortable new shoes for spring. What makes that better? When the same brand has women’s and men’s spring shoes. So let me tell you why Matt and I are in Rockports again.

This isn’t the first time I’ve convinced Matt to be on Visions of Vogue (see here and here). He’s generally a good sport about it since he gets a new pair of shoes out of it. However, it was about 30 degrees when we took these photos. Can you tell? That’s spring in Chicago though!

So how do I usually convince him to do something this seemingly crazy/miserable as shooting in the freezing cold (literally)? Shoes. For those who don’t know, Matt is low key obsessed with all shoes. He loves the obnoxiously colored footwear but he also likes a more subtle dress shoe too. Rockport was a new brand for him back when we first had the privilege of working with them and Zappos. He hadn’t heard of it but after his first pair of Chukkas, he perked right up when I told him we were going to work with Rockport again. Seriously, he loves these shoes!

He wears Rockport shoes more than any other pair on his 30 minute walk to work because they are so comfortable and some are even waterproof. That’s important for Chicago weather. These Dressports that I have him in today are just as good. Trust me. I know because his mood improved by the time we got back to the apartment. He also made a comment about how comfortable they were so that tipped me off. Rockport just can’t be beat especially for your guy. If your guy is picky, try these shoes for spring!

So what about you? It’s not wrong to spoil yourself a little too, right? Rockport makes comfortable women’s shoes for spring too. These tassel mules were my pick for this outfit because I knew they’d be comfortable and I’m loving all mules lately. They’re so easy to slip on and make for a great work to weekend shoe. Style them with everything from a trench coat to business slacks – they’re extremely versatile. We walked about half a mile to the Chicago Riverwalk in our shoes and neither of us had a complaint!

Truth be told, I snagged Matt a second pair of Rockports from Zappos when I placed this order. I am always impressed with how quickly Zappos ships and I knew that if he didn’t love them, the return policy is so good that returning anything that didn’t fit wouldn’t be a pain. The shoes he is wearing here are more of a casual weekend shoe so I got him a grey dress shoe too. I wanted to make sure he had a range of styles for spring since our footwear takes a beating in the winter months!
