If you follow me on snapchat, you know what Matt was out of town this past weekend at a bachelor party. That meant I had a very relaxing weekend full of tons of girl time. Trips to the flower mart and subsequent flower arranging sessions, girls dinner in downtown LA, and best of all, a photo shoot with my sister were all included! While I love having Matt as a photographer (we are 100% self trained), it was really nice to have a girl behind the lens to tell me when my hair was messed up or I was slouching like Quasimodo. How is that for a visual?
But in all seriousness, we had a great time exploring Venice beach and getting a couple outfit shots in the process. We kicked off the day with this romantic white off the shoulder top. What I love about it is that it can also be worn as a cold shoulder top like I’m wearing it today. You basically get 2 trends for the price of 1 and I’m not going to refuse that! I feel like the way it flowed was just lovely and it was definitely thick enough (multiple layers) so it’s not see through.
Since the top is designed to be flowy, I balanced it out with my favorite tassel necklace that I often use to visually slim my figure. It creates a vertical line that has the power to length and break up an outfit! Note that it can be tied multiple ways and layers really well with shorter necklaces. I also am loving these new skinnies from the DL1961 fall collection. If you haven’t try their Instasculpt jeans before, do yourself a favorite and give them a test run. They’re not only stretchy but work to shape your legs in flattering ways! I added a few cognac accessories and had the perfect brunch outfit!

I def agree that a girl photographer is much better at giving body placement directions than guys. My photographer would tell me that my thigh looks big if I sit weird, or my legs look short if bent too much…all in the details! I love that wall backdrop, where is it? I didn’t know you are in LA, I live in WestLA and would LOVE meeting you for lunch :)
