I struggle with shopping for a vacation more than just about any other occasion. Upcoming trips are special – more exciting, more unique, and more photographed then your average day at the office. Therefore, your wardrobe needs a little extra thought. At least, that’s how my mind works. Now, every vacation is different but right now, I feel like the most common getaways are those to sleepy beach towns or tropical islands.
The easiest pieces to wear in these settings are flowy dresses or shorts and a tank top (aside from a bathing suit of course). I’m sure many of you are with me when I say I want to be comfortable when I travel. This pink floral maxi is exactly that. With a tie waist, you can adjust it to fit how you want (or not even tie it at all) and it flatters the figure too. When you might be feeling a little sunburned or just a bit less sexy from indulging in the delicious food, it’s the perfect remedy.
I’ve found that in particularly windy settings (like what we experienced at our stay with Thatch Caye Resort), the photos come out beautifully when there’s fabric blowing in the breeze. It’s pretty easy to achieve that Free People catalogue vibe in just a few shots. I also enjoyed going sans heels, makeup, and curls in my hair for the week. It was refreshing to be out the door in under 10 minutes! And when you need to dress it up, I opt for a tasteful sparkle on your ears.
What do you think? What do you typically wear on vacation?

Beautiful dress! I usually wear dresses on vacation or shorts. I find dresses a lot cooler for the most part.
