After our recent trip to Napa, I decided we need to go back. We just didn’t get enough time there to explore everything we wanted to! We stayed at Vista Collina and I got so many DMs about the property that I wanted to share a few more details! For anyone traveling to wine country, I strongly recommend!
LOCATION.
Vista Collina is located 10 minutes south of downtown Napa. The property is located at The Village – there are so many amenities which I’ll get into further below! The great thing about Napa is that you can fly into San Francisco, Oakland, or Sacramento – even San Jose if you don’t mind a little longer of a drive. This enables you to compare flight prices. We rented a car and flew into Oakland and out of Sacramento on Southwest.
I recommend renting a car (depending on prices) to get to Vista Collina. You can always Uber around wine country but it was nice to be able to drive ourselves to brunch especially since we were continuing on to a ranch in Calistoga for a wedding!
ROOMS.
The rooms were very spacious and had all of the amenities. The bathrooms were stunning and stocked with Fresh beauty products too. The nightly rates are very generous considering how much space you get! Each room comes with a bottle of wine which is a nice welcome into wine country. Our room overlooked the lawn and faced the sunset. It was so peaceful to sit outside and enjoy it with Matt!
AMENITIES.
The thing that impressed me most was that there are 9 wine tasting rooms on the property. They surround the lawn on the Vista Collina property. The wine is sourced from the best boutique wineries in Napa so that if you wanted to avoid all the driving during the day, you can get the Napa experience without leaving your hotel!
The giant lawn in the center of the property is perfect for a picnic and Vista Collina offers a Lawn Butler service where they prepare a picnic for you. If you have the chance to do this, I would definitely recommend. The food is prepared fresh on the property by Fivetown Grocery, an upscale market nestled in between the wine tasting rooms. It’s also a great photo opp! I wish we had gotten to experience this. But the DLCC was happening while we were there so the lawn was set up for the events!
Vista Collina also has a Food & Wine Center so be sure to check and see if there is a cooking class taking place during your visit! I really wanted to do one but the timing didn’t work out! I would even recommend planning your visit around one if possible!
There is also a pool on the Vista Collina property as well as at The Meritage Resort across the street (a 1 minute walk). Both resorts are connected so it’s kind of like a mini compound. I loved that aspect because it gives you access to more facilities and everything is within walking distance!
The spa on the property provides a fitness studio as well! There is even a Wellness Wednesday class!
NEARBY.
As I mentioned, Vista Collina was the perfect spot for us to begin our wine tasting. We went to a few wineries while in Napa before the wedding festivities kicked off and we took an Uber between them. The price was very reasonable from the Vista Collina property and we didn’t have to wait long times! Here were the wineries we visited:
- Hall
- V. Sattui
- Domaine Carneros
- Silver Oak Cellars
Have you been to Napa? Is it on your bucket list?
