Green Velvet Cold Shoulder Dress
As soon as fall hits, my mind immediately jumps to the holidays. Which inevitably means I’m thinking about what to wear. And this velvet dress is my top contender right now.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram Stories, you know I wore this Hale Bob dress to last week’s event with Simon G. Jewelry. Let me tell you, I’ve never gotten more compliments or had more messages from y’all on where this dress is from. In hindsight, I can see why. It’s a pretty amazing dress. The velvet texture is super soft and the deep teal color makes it perfect for holiday parties. So yes, I totally get why you guys had questions!
If you haven’t heard of Hale Bob, do yourself a favor and go check out their velvet selection. If you read yesterday’s post on the fall fashion (from a guy’s perspective), you already know that velvet is trending. We obviously love it as women and it got a ‘pass’ in Matt’s book too. While this dress is a little more pricey, plan to wear it to multiple events. Wear it for holiday photos, to a work event, and then out with your friends. It’s definitely one of those timeless, classic pieces that you can wear at any age. And the cold shoulder detail is conservative to make you comfortable in any setting.
I dressed up today’s look with some over the knee boots. It was particularly windy and rainy for that event so I wanted to bundle up a little. They were the perfect pairing with the velvet and it make for a warm, but stylish dress. If I’ve learned anything from living in Chicago, you appreciate the moments where you can manage both of those.
