Velvet Camisole (under $50!) | Grey Teardrop Sleeve Cardigan | Faux Leather Leggings | Black Over the Knee Boots | Blue Velvet Crossbody Bag | Mirrored Sunglasses (only $25 right now!) | Lipstick in ‘Bawse’
I’m moving a little slow today but ready to power through! Matt and I went to the Lukas Graham concert last night at the House of Blues in Chicago! When I first got the invite from Live Nation, I totally had to Google who Lukas Graham was. I am the worst when it comes to knowing artists’ names. Anyone else? I’m also the worst when it comes to lyrics. I’m notorious for making up my own. I couldn’t count the number of times Matt has said “you know it’s this, right?”, correcting my made up lyrics!
Lukas Graham was actually really entertaining. Plus his voice was amaze. We were both blow away that we didn’t know him by name already! I snapchatted/Instastoried a little bit (@jennacolgrove on both) if you’re curious. I only did a few videos though because my pet peeve is when people go to a concert and snapchat the entire thing. We have a very dear friend who is notorious for that and we tease him all the time (sorry Kyle!). I totes made sure to send him a snap of the show ;)
This pretty velvet camisole was the perfect layering piece for a night out. This week is unseasonably warm for Chicago (so I’ve been told). That means, I can actually wear a camisole! It’s such a great date night top because it’s got that sheen to make you feel dressed up without the discomfort. Plus, being inside with a bunch of bodies dancing to a concert means that layering is a must. This velvet top would also be great under your favorite moto jacket!
Since I didn’t want to carry around a coat all night, I opted for this grey knit cardigan. How adorable are these teardrop sleeves? It’s such a cute shape! Cardigans have never been one of those items where I feel immediately stylish when I put them on. They can be, but it takes a little bit of work. However, when I find one with a cute detail like these sleeves or in a unique color (like this pink one last week), it’s a game changer!
I’m always trying to mix up my looks for date night with Matt. I’d claim it’s because I wanted to keep him on his toes but I think I want to shake things up for myself too! Don’t all girls dress up for themselves (and other girls) more than guys, anyway? That’s how I’ve always felt at least!
What is your favorite date night look?
Love this winter look! That velvet cami is such a cool piece.
You are not alone in making up lyrics. My fiance likes to call me out on them too!
