Sea Island + Draper James Giveaway

Y’all, let me tell you about this gorgeous place! If you’ve been following on Snapchat (@jennacolgrove), you know I did a little girls trip with 7 other blogger babes a few weekends back. When we first started planning, one of the girls tossed out this resort as a possible destination. Now, I had never heard of Sea Island Georgia. A tiny island off the easy coast? I was a California girl and very, very far out of my element when it came to the opposite side of the United States. That said, I’m so happy we decided to go there! I don’t think we could have found a more perfect or luxurious location to hang out for a few days!

SCENE: 

From the moment we drove onto the island, there was no shortage of stunning photo opportunities. There were sweeping oak trees lining the highway for the last 3 miles of the drive! I immediately felt the effect of the Southern charm everyone always talks about. From the beautiful foyer to the bohemian style rugs in every room, they’d thought of every little detail. The staff was so welcoming and helped us to our rooms so fast. Being with 7 other bloggers, you can imagine that getting our luggage up to our rooms was no easy task! Bags on bags!

We had the opportunity to shoot a few looks from Draper James’ holiday collection over the weekend! For those unfamiliar with Draper James, it’s Reese Witherspoon’s clothing line and it’s everything you could expect from a brand – too cute! For anyone who ever saw the movie Legally Blonde and wanted to be Elle Woods, you need to see their clothing. P.S. that was totally my favorite movie in high school until Love Actually stole my heart.

I got to wear this beautiful floral skirt which reminded me of poinsettia flowers. How perfect would this be for holiday parties? This was the beautiful entryway to the hotel. The architecture was so unique – a mix of medieval, Spanish, Southern, beachy… a true delight! I’m obsessed with a good arch and this resort had plenty to go around!

Look at all of these beautiful rugs! Having just moved into a new apartment, I was getting some serious design inspiration. More to come on that soon!

ENJOY:

This was the dock leading out to the Cloister Belle – the resident boat at the resort. The girls and I got to take a sunset cruise and learn about the marshland surrounding Sea Island. We were really lucky and saw some dolphins out on our ride too! All of us below are decked out in our Vineyard Vines gear – we could not resist prep-ing it up for a boating event, right? On a side note, this quilted jacket has been keeping me warm since I’ve been home in Chicago!

If you go back during the spring or summer, there is a beautiful beach to enjoy too! There are tons of other activities – tennis, horse back riding, shooting, to name a few – for those looking for entertainment. The girls and I decided that next time we want to test out the spa (of course). Sea Island Resort literally has it all!

EAT:

None of us wanted to leave the resort all weekend! When it came to food, we were completely taken care of. On Friday, we had dinner at Southern Tide which was the perfect setting for all of us to get to know each other. A little more casual and with delicious drinks, we could already tell it was going to be a fun few days!

We ate dinner at the Georgian Room on Saturday night – the only 5 star restaurant in the state of Georgia. We had a lovely 4 course meal with our own sommelier and private room! Every dish had incredible presentation and was so creative with a mix of flavors. We would all go back in a heartbeat.

Come Sunday morning, none of us wanted to leave! We hung out for a bit in our Plum Pretty Sugar robes just chit chatting and recapping the weekend. A few of the girls had grabbed hot chocolate and some yummy pastries form the Library while the rest brewed coffee in the rooms! It was definitely tough to say goodbye to everyone by the end of the weekend. All these girls were just so sweet and genuine. Luckily, we already have plans to do it all again so stay tuned for that!
