Whenever I think of the word ‘blouse’, I immediately cringe. As a little girl, I associated blouses with work and my mom (not in a bad way, just in a serious going to the office way). I’d later learn that work is a necessary evil and while I’m not nearly as similar to my mother as my sister is, I’ve picked up a few things over the years.
Luckily, I work in a more casual environment so I can get pretty creative with my ensembles Monday through Friday. Disclaimer: that creativity is often better described as laziness. Jeans and a sweater? Sounds great when you’re packing that gym bag in the dark at 6AM. Every now and then, I’ll find a blouse that is too cute to pass on and incorporate it into the rotation! These polka dots offered the pizzazz of a bolder print without being too loud. Blue is pretty muted after all. The fit is impeccable as well. It has a tasteful keyhole back that doesn’t gap too much and I love the way it hangs. Plus, as a very tall human, the length suited me just fine!
Another buzz word – or phrase, I should say – is ‘4 way stretch’. You guessed it. It refers to jeans. These River Island jeggings have it. They are also high waisted which I personally love in general – low rise was so high school! You could tuck in this blouse or wear it loose like I did and it would offer a cute silhouette either way!
That’s all for today! Enjoy your weekend babes! It’s supposed to rain here in Los Angeles but I’m hoping it doesn’t. Matt and I have a tennis date and squee-geeing the courts isn’t on the agenda!
