Pink Off the Shoulder Sweater (comes in 5 colors!) | High Waisted Floral Embroidered Jeans | Cognac Mules | White Lace Halter Bra | Lattice Crossbody Bag | White Beaded Earrings | Gold Pave Bracelet | Gold Pave Ring | Pink Sunglasses
I can’t say that I’m excited for cooler temperatures. Call me Californian, but the thought of freezing through another winter isn’t something I’m welcoming with open arms. No matter how cute the sweaters and booties are this year. Regardless of what I want, it’s coming. Today’s post is all about transitional pieces to get ready!
The very first thing that comes to mind when I think about the cold is a sweater. I lived in sweaters last year. I stuck with basic crewnecks or v-necks for the most part since I was still learning how to layer. This year, I’m so excited to try more trendy items like this pink off the shoulder sweater. It’s lightweight enough to wear now during late summer but you can also snuggle up with it later in fall. It comes in 5 colors too so if pink isn’t your thing, you’ve covered! You can also wear it as a one shoulder!
I’m also layering it with this lace halter bra. I find these bralettes to be way more comfortable than regular bras (I have a smaller chest)! When I’m layering up, they are my go to because you can’t really tell that I’m wearing one of these versus a regular bra. Especially at work, when I’m running 20 minutes late and there is snow all over the ground. I also love wearing them with any top that has a cut where you’re left wondering what type of bra to wear with it. Keep in mind, this doesn’t work if you have a bigger chest!
I was also eager to break out these embroidered jeans again that I wore to Lollapalooza. I wasn’t sure how many ways I could wear them but have worn them to brunch twice with a basic twist front white tee and now here as part of this transitional fall outfit. Every time I wear them out, I get tons of compliments!
The next thing that reminds me of fall is all things cognac colored. I love the richness of caramel accessories, riding boots, and crunchy leaves. Now that I’m in Chicago, we actually get to see the leaves change! I found this lattice stitched crossbody when browsing the Nordstrom website and fell in love. I usually invest in 1-2 bags a year that I know will last for more than just one season. I’d been on the lookout for a great cognac color like this and finally found one that I loved. Since it’s a little on the pricey side, I rounded up several options at all price points below!
This two toned one is only $45 with such a great shape! If you love the textures (and Rebecca Minkoff), this suede saddle bag might be for you!
Since y’all know my style tip is always to balance out your accessories (by wearing the same color if you’ve already got a few different colors going on), I paired it with these mules. The braided detail is my favorite part. They are 40% off and also come in black. I love a good deal and they are still left in a couple sizes! Mules are so comfortable to me because of the block heel and they really elongate your leg.
Here are a few more of my favorite mules right now! When you’re not ready for a bootie just yet, they are the perfect solution. Plus they go so well with all those summer dresses right now!
What are your favorite transitional fall pieces?
