Mellow Yellow with Maggy London

I never understood the phrase mellow yellow. Nothing about the color yellow says mellow to me. It’s bright, it’s vibrant, and it makes a girl super happy. Twirling in this Maggy London yellow floral dress also makes a girl super happy. Admittedly, it makes me super nauseated as well – I don’t know how little kids do it.

I’m all about the square neck on this dress. I tend to stick the same necklines and shapes – you gotta know what works for you, right? I welcomed this subtle change though – there’s something very satisfyingly Stepford Wives-ish about it. Don’t expect to see me wearing this around the house though. I’m all about my Lululemon run shorts and a tank because our apartment is sweltering this time of year!

After a week on the beach, I can tell you that one thing that makes me mellow: vacation. Especially those where most of your time is spent in the sun. Perhaps that’s where the phrase mellow yellow came from. I sincerely doubt it though. Analyzing numbers is much more my forte than the English language so I’ll stick to that.
