Coming off the high of Valentine’s Day, it’s time to share this low back black maxi dress with y’all. The cut, the cling, and the shape are all super flattering making it perfect for date nights year round. And while I’m mourning the fact that one of my favorite holidays is over (for the record, I never thought I’d say that about V Day), I’m not sorry that it brings the sale of so many killer dresses (this one is now $50). It’s like retailers think that we don’t wear dresses except for on national date nights.
Now I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t exactly wear a dress last night. Los Angeles is notorious for terrible traffic on Valentine’s Day – it can take you 45 minutes to go 2 miles down Santa Monica Blvd. While I love sitting within arms reach of Matt, doing that in a car with faces illuminated by a bunch of brake lights isn’t my ideal scenario. It doesn’t exactly evoke feelings of love despite the red glow. More like rage. SO we celebrated early on Saturday night at a trendy new spot by the beach followed by a movie. We rarely see movies because you can’t really connect with each other during them but How To Be Single offered just enough laughs to send us home with happy hearts!
The actual night of Valentine’s Day was spent at home, totally living out that stereotype of the married couple haha. Although, I did bring home Taco Bell for him after my blogger brunch so I think I win best wife of the year. Backstory there: my mother asked Matt a bunch of questions for me to answer at my bridal shower and one of them was what his favorite restaurant was. No joke, he picked Taco Bell… While fancy isn’t the best way to describe him, he certainly is economical!
What about you? What did you and your Valentine/Galentine do to celebrate this weekend?
