You hear a lot about the little black dress or the little white dress. There’s something to be said for that. Both are timeless foundations of your wardrobe. But let’s add something else to the mix: the little red dress.

Someone mentioned that I wear a lot of dresses recently. Yes, I do. Here’s why:

  • I think they’re incredibly easy to wear  and are comfortable – especially for summer.
  • They’re so easy to style. You don’t have to pair them with anything except shoes and a bag maybe. You don’t have to worry if the cut of the top fits with the cut of the bottom you wanted to wear with it. Or if the colors match or clash.
  • They’re almost universally flattering for all body types – at least the ones I pick out are.
  • And after a winter of pants and various knit sweaters, I’m dying to wear some dresses!

Dresses are pre-styled and risk free. It’s like one of those clothing subscription boxes – you know it’s already been vetted to work. Also, I just finished my A Dress A Day series so I’ve been wearing a few more than usual lately!

And here’s another one! The LRD is perfect for everything from a pool day in Mexico to that date night you’ve been looking forward to all week. It’s bold but without pushing you too much outside your comfort zone. It’s classy but not boring. A perfect balance. The ruffled dress I’m wearing is under $100!
