Are they Pants or is it a Skirt?

I’d like to think that one of my jobs as a blogger is to encourage my readers to try trends they wouldn’t normally gravitate toward. That’s where these grey culottes come in. Are they pants or is it a skirt? Trick question. They’re both.

Culottes have come back in a major way in 2015. They’ve replaced the short shorts as a much more modest option and I’m pretty happy about it. When I saw these in grey (and for under $50), I had to try them. I loved how when standing still and sans wind, they looked like a maxi skirt. But when you start to move, you can see that they’re actually pants. The pleated detailing on one side really pushed the envelope in a good way as well.

Perfect for the office and a night out with your bae, you can incorporate them into your closet without the degree of difficulty that comes along with say… floral pants. I’ve found they go quite will with flowy tops like this one. And yes, I know I’m wearing it backwards. Neutral enough so that they won’t attract too much attention, you’ll be regarded as one of the most stylish girls on the block/in the office/at the bar/on the couch.
