It’s been a week since Labor Day so I thought it only fitting to break the rules and wear white. Actually, all white. Go big or go home, right? I’m a firm believer in the ideology that rules are meant to be broken and in wearing what you want to wear regardless of calendar date. I have to be because as everything starts to layer up for fall, I’m stuck in another heat wave that has descended upon Los Angeles. Trying to put on a military jacket or light sweater and not be in air conditioning right now? Yeah right.

Inspired by this GiGi New York embossed clutch, I wanted to keep this look crisp and clean. Whenever I’m lacking inspiration, I start with monochromatic. These DL1961 jeans are my favsies – after trying about 10 different brands, these are the ones that I find to be most flattering and comfortable. They’re also instascuplting – hello instant slenderizers!! They’re not overly stretchy which means no saggy knees after a few wears but they do offer a little give which means you could totally wear them to Thanksgiving dinner. Well, depending on how much you like turkey.

Lastly, do me a favor and imagine me wearing a pastel pink or beige coat over this so I can pretend to be relevant for fall. This outfit is a great canvas to layer any outerwear so you totally could!
