9 Things to Get For Your Guy: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

With all the excitement surrounding the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, it’s about time I dedicated a post to the leading men in our lives. It’s so easy to get distracted by all the gorgeous tops, cute boots, and fun accessories. After all, they can use a little love every now and then!

During the first week of the sale, I had Matt meet me at the Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue here in Chicago. After wading through Women’s Shoes and then BP, I convinced him to take a look at what the men’s sale had to offer! Even though he would have rather been at home in front of the TV with a beer. Instead of trying to guess at what a guy would like (other than the obvious), I convinced him to share his top picks. Here goes!

1. Jared Lang Dress Shirt.

Jared Lang shirts take up about 70% of my closet. You think I’m exaggerating but I may in fact be under-exaggerating. I’m a glutton for bright colors and unique cuffs. These shirts can be worn to the office on Monday or the nightclub on Friday. The hardest part about choosing just one is that I want to buy them all.

2. Men’s Clarisonic.

You can never take too many precautions to keeping your face clear. You’d be hard pressed to find a guy that’s bought a Clarisonic and regretted it later on.

3. Nike Windrunner.

Buy this now and you’ll thank me come December. This Nike windrunner is stylish and warm, which checks off all the necessary boxes of winter wardrobe.

4. Shoe Tree. 

Shoe trees are an absolute must. They don’t just prolong the lifetime of your dress shoes, but they will maintain that out of the box look after hundreds of wears. This deal is better than anything you’ll find on Amazon or elsewhere.

5. Backpack. 

It’s time to upgrade your bag game, because you don’t want to get caught in a Jansport or an LL Bean with your initials on it. This backpack is practical and the blue-brown combo just works.

6. Paige Jeans. 

After experimenting with dozens of jeans over the years, I can hands down say that Paige are the best a man (or woman) can get. All my jeans have been replaced with Paige, as they are ridiculously comfortable, durable and chic. They are rarely on sale so take the chance while you have it.

7. Fancy Socks.

There’s three guarantees in life: death, taxes, and requirement to wear socks. Stance sits on top of the sock game, consistently matching it’s fabric quality and durability with unique and flashy prints.

8. Leather Watch. 

This is a super versatile watch that can be worn both casual or formal. Love the subtle yet uniqueness of the strap, and it’s like nothing I’ve seen before.

There’s a plethora of shoes across the anniversary sale, that you can really do no wrong. But these shoes emit style, class and power. You ever hear the saying “dress for the job you want, not the job you have.” 6 months in these and you might be CEO.
