White Sectional Couch | Fur Throw Blanket | Brown Fur Pillow | White Fur Pillow | Ivory Buckle Pillows | Beige Area Rug | White Area Rug | Coffee Table | TV Stand | Arc Floor Lamp
A month and a half after the move, we finally have a living room!! While I can’t guarantee any other room is put together, I’m thrilled to share this part of our new home! If some of the items look familiar, that’s because they are (see our first living room reveal here). We brought our favorite pieces from Ashley HomeStore with us to Chicago. With fall in full swing, I wanted to do a little refresh with accent pieces to show how easy (and affordable) it is to transform your space.
When we were packing up, we want to be thoughtful about what we brought with us. Moving 2,000 miles is pricey! If we weren’t 100% about something, it wasn’t coming with us. This was an excuse to give ourselves a little change of scenery at home too. We absolutely love our couch. The Wilcot sectional is so comfortable and has held up incredibly well. Matt will only sit in one spot and I can still plump it up to look brand new. That is, if I can get him out of that spot for long enough.
It’s served as a bed to many of our friends too. When you remove the cushions, it’s actually really wide! We can’t wait to host parties (most likely involving sports, knowing my husband) because of all the seating! For the few people I’ve allowed into our chaotic apartment, they’ve all made comments about how much they love this couch. My mother-in-law and I have watched a few Real Housewives marathons while the boys work on home improvement projects!
When thinking about a fall refresh, I knew I didn’t want to be predictable. While I adore leaves and deep, rich tones, I can’t deny my love of neutrals. Or the timelessness of them. I incorporated these furry Himena pillows in dark brown for a little fall feel. I kept these Leonard pillows on the couch to provide a little more texture with the buckles. I seem to associate fall with fur so these leopard and white accents made it into the mix as well. I’m not a leopard girl usually but I like the vibe of just one pillow with animal print. It says ‘on trend but not wild’.
Given that it’s been 30 degrees here, I couldn’t resist adding a new throw to the mix. I chose this Ibrahim blanket to tie in the dark brown pillows and the white of the couch. It’s also so warm! Since our new floor is darker wood, I layered a white area rug over our old one to brighten the space.
Our coffee table is still holding strong! It’s currently storing all the electronics I don’t know what to do with (AKA Matt’s stuff). We still have one of the drawers removed from TV stand to make room for the Xbox. I will admit that Matt has been playing fewer video games now that we live closer to his friends. Although, I have found myself in many more sports bars. Thankfully, there is a great group of girls attached to those friends so we can keep each other company!
I also wanted to take elements from our life in Los Angeles and our new one in Chicago. So, I had Matt hang these prints of Illinois and California above the couch. I love the gold foil! That’s the (mini) tour! What do you think? Do you change up your home decor with the seasons?
P.S. I’ll be working on our guest bedroom this weekend so stay tuned!!
