It’s the day I’ve been looking forward to for the last month! I am so excited to share what I have planned! If you missed it on Instagram Stories, I’m launching a series called ‘A Dress A Day’ for the month of April: it’s one dress, every day for 30 days. Each day will be a different occasion or event based on the requests I had over on Instagram! I’ll also be including 20 additional dresses each day for that occasion to shop for inspiration! That is over 600 dresses this month!! Suffice it to say, I think there is something for everyone coming!
Nothing from ‘A Dress A Day’ is sponsored and every dress is something I ordered myself. I was intentional in wanting to keep it that way: just a way to share what I love from me to you. For those who missed why I brought back this series, I wanted to get back to doing what I enjoy, what energizes me: creating beautiful content, especially when I get the privilege of shooting dresses. After all, that’s why I started this blog back in 2013 as a little escape from my day job in excel spreadsheets. Something about this outlet brings me so much joy when I sit back and look at what the two of us created as two relative amateurs in this space. If you’re new, Matt is my husband who doubles as my photographer. I’ll often show Matt the finished product and say “look what we did!!” in disbelief that we were able to get the perfect shot, the right lighting, or make my crazy unrealistic vision come to life. I have so much respect for professionals who do this every day! Transparently, we fell out of creating content last year with all of its challenges as I’m sure so many can relate. I lost my way a little on a personal front. It’s taken me a while to heal, but I’m getting there and this “A Dress A Day’ series reinvigorated me. It is my commitment to you to bring you dress inspiration for spring and summer and hopefully, do a little better job of answering the requests for outfit ideas on Instagram.
With the world starting to look a little more normal, what better way to celebrate than with a few dresses? It might be just what we need as wedding invitations arrive in our mailboxes and brunch dates with girlfriends go back on the calendar. From the bottom of my heart, I hope each and every one of you enjoys this series as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Now onto the details of the first day in ‘A Dress A Day’! When I polled on Instagram, it seemed like most were interested in seeing outfit ideas for brunch. If you voted for the other options, don’t worry! They’re coming very soon! I’ll be checking in with you on Instagram Stories throughout the month so if there’s something you want to see, make sure to follow along. As a lover of brunch, I can’t think of a better way to kick off the month and this yellow floral dress is the perfect option. It comes in 3 other colors and is on sale for less than $30! I love the adjustable straps, the elastic back, and the pretty yellow color. It’s that little bit of sunshine to brighten your day and it’s comfortable.
It also comes in an almost identical style with a less flowy skirt. It still has a great fit as well without being form fitting and there is a yellow flora print that is very similar if the one I’m wearing is out of stock!
You can see both dresses in my Old Navy highlight on Instagram! Both have an incredible fit and are versatile for every spring summer occasion! There are more budget friendly spring dresses in that highlight too!
As promised, here are 20 more dresses to give you outfit inspiration for your next brunch date. Whether that be a solo weekend coffee run, much needed time with the girls, or a little date with your partner, these dress are my favorite ‘casual but cute’ options! I also kept in mind comfort because no one wants to be uncomfortable when eating a meal!
